Twomey Through the Years
A lot can happen in a year—let alone 20! Take a walk down memory lane with some of these highlights.
The Duncan Family of Silver Oak founded Twomey with the goal of creating a beautiful single vineyard wine from the newly acquired Soda Canyon Ranch in Napa Valley.
With a desire to explore Pinot Noir, the Duncans secured a nine-acre parcel of Westpin Vineyard, which is the only Pinot Noir vineyard to be blended in every vintage of Russian River Pinot Noir.
The first vintage of Twomey Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley is harvested.
The Twomey Napa Valley Winery in Calistoga is acquired.
The tasting room in Calistoga opens.
Calistoga Estate Vineyard is planted to all Sauvignon Blanc. (It was previously half Cabernet Sauvignon and half Sauvignon Blanc!)
Fun fact: Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet was made at the winery in Healdsburg following a fire at the Oakville winery.
The Twomey Russian River Valley Winery opens.
The tasting room in Healdsburg opens.
After much exploration and careful consideration, Twomey begins production of four Pinot Noirs from various parts of California and its first Sauvignon Blanc made solely from our Calistoga Estate Vineyard.
Precision viticulture is implemented at the Twomey vineyards in Napa Valley.
Soda Canyon Ranch is Fish Friendly Farming and Napa Green certified.
Also, Oakville Estate Vineyard is planted to all Sauvignon Blanc.
Jean-Claude Berrouet, the former winemaker at Château Pétrus, comes onboard as consultant.
Calistoga Estate Vineyard also receives Fish Friendly Farming and Napa Green certification.
Club Twomey launches!
The single vineyard Pinot Noir program begins to grow with the first vintage of Monument Tree Vineyard and Soberanes Vineyard Pinot Noirs.
